VOTING IN CHICAGO |
On the occasion of the Parliamentary elections in the Republic of Serbia, the polling place at the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Chicago was opened on March 15, 2014. From the electoral roll-call for the consular jurisdiction of the Consulate General in Chicago 45 percent of the registered voters came to cast their ballots. |

PRESENTATIONS ON AIR SERBIA AND HEALTH TOURISM |
Representatives of AIR Serbia organized a presentation of their services and plans at the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Chicago. Attendees had the opportunity to be introduced to the company's new fleet, new logo, the quality of service and the destinations of the AIR Serbia transport. Representative of AIR Serbia reported that the direct flights to the United States are in the strategic planning stages of the company.
At the same time at the Consulate General the representatives of the Serbian Unity Congress in Belgrade presented the project of the International Licensing Serbian spas. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the USAID. To this end during the presentation a survey was conducted in conjunction with the presentation of the health tourism.

Serbian Made FIAT 500L at Chicago Autoshow |
Among the nearly 1,000 different vehicles on the display at the largest Auto Show in North America, FIAT presented the Kragujevac made FIAT 500L model. This car features Italian styling, a turbocharged, 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine yielding plenty of head and legroom, a double-docker cargo. All models have front-wheel drive and are available in four trims: Pop, Easy, Trekking and Lounge. FIAT 500L Trekking version draw the most of attention. Made as a family mini-SUV, the car has a special charm and a character, presented in America with fun advertising. The Auto Show is open from 8 until 17 February, 2014.

VISIT OF STATE SECRETARY OF SERBIAN INTERIOR MINISTRY TO CHICAGO |
State Secretary of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Vladimir Bozovic has visited Chicago, February 7 – 10, 2014. State Secretary Bozovic spoke with the representatives of the FBI in Chicago about cooperation and prospects of future collaboration with the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia.
Mr. Bozovic also had a meeting with the representatives of the Serbian diaspora and attended the liturgy at the New Gracanica Monastery in Third Lake, IL. State Secretary Bozovic and representatives of the Consulate General then attended the repeat performance of "The Professional" by Dusan Kovacevic at the Serbian-American Museum St. Sava in Chicago.

THEIR FRIENDS ARE WITH THEM AND ARE IN CONSTANT COMMUNICATION WITH THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA IN CHICAGO AND EMBASSY IN WASHINGTON. |

Serbian Patriarch awards the Consul General in Chicago |
At a banquet reception held at the New Gracanica Monastery in Chicago, Bishop of New Gracanica and Midwest America Longin presented Consul General Desko Nikitovic with the Order of Emperor Constantine, awarded to him by Serbian Patriarch Irinej.
Saturday, 12 October 2013. Bishop Longin hosted a reception at the New Gracanica Monastery in honour of Desko Nikitovic who served as Consul General in Chicago, from 1 March 2003 until 28 September 2013. The reception was attended by some 300 guests, including representatives of all national organizations of the diaspora in the United States, a large number of prominent and business people, lawyers, doctors, and Vuk Nastic, a father of two small children from California who had been separated from their parents for almost eight months, and only after the intervention of Consul General Nikitovic were they returned to their parents. |
