Document Certification
Scheduling an appointment for consular services is mandatory and must be done through the eConsulate platform:

Important Notes:
At the Consulate General, the signatures of citizens of the Republic of Serbia may be notarized on statements and powers of attorney, but not on contracts.
The Consulate General is not authorized to notarize contracts involving any type of real estate transaction. However, it may notarize powers of attorney authorizing a person to enter into such contracts on behalf of the principal.
Certification of Signatures on Powers of Attorney or Statements
The Consulate General certifies signatures on private documents in Serbian (all types of powers of attorney, consents, and statements, with certain exceptions) intended for use in the Republic of Serbia. The Consulate General confirms only the identity and signature of the person signing the document and assumes no responsibility for the content.
Requirements:
· At least two unsigned copies of the document to be certified (one copy is retained by the Consulate General)
· A valid Serbian passport or ID card, or a valid foreign passport (if the person is not a holder of valid Serbian document)
Fees:
· First certified signature on a document: $43
· Second copy of the same document: $20
· Third and each additional copy: $12
Payment is accepted by card.
When scheduling your appointment, please indicate if the person signing the document does not speak Serbian or is otherwise unable to read or sign the document independently.
Documents requiring certified signatures may also be certified by a local notary public, provided that the document is subsequently apostilled by the competent authority of the U.S. state where the notary is registered.
Certification of Inheritance Statements
An inheritance statement in which a person accepts their legal share of inheritance requires only a certified signature. Such statements may be certified either at the Consulate General or by a local notary, provided the document is also apostilled by the competent U.S. state authority.

· Statements accepting the inheritance and transferring all or part of it to another heir
· Statements renouncing the inheritance share
